Many have voiced their anger and directly accused us. This phenomenon has surged in the past month and curiously is limited to our shed advertisements on Facebook, absent in comments for our other products. And it is becoming to influence our business, therefore, we would like to share the results of our investigation as well as help our customers to avoid being scammed.
1.Why are all fraudulent orders priced around £50?
Scammers exploit the allure of getting high-value furniture (worth £150-£300) at this price. By keeping the order prices modest, they effectively bait and deceive customers.
2.Why do customers always receive cheap mistaken shipment?
In the early stages of the scam, customers might receive a low-value package. That’s because scammers leverage the 'erroneous shipment' excuse to prolong resolution, aiming to sidestep potential payment disputes on platforms like PayPal or Stripe.
3.How to steer clear of scams?
- Identify them. Such scams often share two characteristics: they involve modest amounts, making them enticing and affordable for majority, and the products aren’t UK-based. Realizing the scam, like receiving an incorrect item, often comes well after the order's completion.
- Respect the value of products and their legitimate pricing. If a product's selling price is substantially lower than its average market price, it's likely a scam.
- If scammed, contact PayPal or your bank immediately to raise a dispute or request a refund—it's the most effective way to recover your money.
- If scammers see a surge in victims, they'd heavily promote their ads, swiftly withdraw funds from their accounts and close down their store.
